George Almaden (born January 15, 1950) is a low profile Jazz drummer but highly esteemed by his contemporaries in the industry. Almaden studied briefly arranging and composition through correspondence in one of the music schools in the US and other reference books. Starting out on the cities of Olongapo and Angeles rock scene around US Military bases in the early 1970s, Almaden soon found himself working with local Jazz artists such as Emil Mejares, Bel (Bugudoy) Cruz Romy Katindig, Bobby Enriquez, Eli Saison, Emy Munji and Lito Molina's Jazz Friends during which he also traveled abroad with different bands such as the Midas Touch, performed numerous albums and commercials under the composer arranger Danny Subido. Finally spent a total of seven years with Joselito Pascual at the Manila Hotel.
Upon leaving Pascual, Almaden's primary focus was managing and booking local bands here and abroad hence the beginning of Pro Artists and Entertainment Network, the predecessor of Pro Artists Event Entertainment & Productions. But Almaden didn't leave drumming behind either, he continued his work as a sideman of Miguel and Evelyn Juteau's Aquarela, a Brazilian Jazz band whom he also assisted with the organizing its members and the Clave band, which specializes in Afro-Cuban Latin music. Almaden is currently working on the musical arrangement of Ms. Farida's salsa version of “Hiram”, composed and arranged by Paco Almaden.
